The DIIA Regional Activator was organized on the 8th July at the Lalit Ashok Bangalore for the purpose of building an Alliance for Self-Reliance in the Indian defence sector. The event witnessed a packed house with attendance far exceeding the initial seating capacity of 150. Over 100 different Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) engaging in the defence sector were represented at the event.

Chairman of DIIA meets the Hon’ble Defence Minister to discuss Make in India in Defence

Mr. Rahul Chaudhry, Chairman of Defence Innovators & industry Association (DIIA) and CEO - Tata Power SED met the Hon’ble Defence Minister of India, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman on 5th December, 2017 to discuss an Action Plan for Exports in defence industry and integration of the Indian MSMEs into global supply chain.

Key SME defence R&D players launch association

Key defence industry players came together on Thursday to launch DIIA that will focus on accelerating indigenous design and development in the sector.

The Defence Industry and Innovators Association (DIIA), will, according to its chairman Ashok Atluri, provide a platform for like-minded organizations to rally around, collaborate and co-operate to forge ahead in ensuring that Make by India becomes a sustainable initiative.

Call for Aerospace manufacturing policy for India

Dr. R.K. Tyagi, former chairman HAL and mentor – director Defence Innovators and industry Association (DIIA) called for a further effective Aerospace manufacturing policy for India. While welcoming the recent policy on ‘Strategic Partnership’ announced by Shri Jaitly, the defence minister of India, he stated that allowing manufacturing of single – engine fighter aircraft and Helicopters under this category will lead to higher technological capabilities of Aerospace manufacturing sector. He was speaking on the occasion of national seminar organized by CII and Indian Air force jointly at New Delhi on 23rd may 2017 on the theme 'MAKE in INDIA for Indian Air force.'
